On September 16, 2002 Dan & Alex went up to Downieville. They where planning
to do the usual three runs. However, near the end of the second run Dan had a
mishap. Coming on to a short climb right hander, Dan shot up to the side of
the trail onto a rock face and lost control. He flipped sliding back down on
over a cliff on the left.
He hit his helmet on a rock, scraping his
face, both knees and broke his left wrist.
With the helmet destroyed and a seriously
injured wrist, Dan had to retire for the day. The bike was ok.
This was after two weeks
